The Hotel Mercure La Gradisca... has been restored to an unique style and inspired by the famous Italian film director Federico Fellini. In every room there is a painted picture representing a character or a scene from Fellini?s movies.

We are glad to show you "Certosa di San Giacomo", an ancient monastery with eighteenth century church surrounded by 42 hectares of green grass and flowery gardens. The monastery, built between 1197 and 1209 at Lauro, a medieval small town in Avellino province, became soon a place of agricultural production very famous for the quality of its products, and a place of spiritual refuge. Even today inside the "Certosa" are kept an ancient winepress and an olive grindstone and so it is continued the monks' tradition of producing wines like Fiano, Aglianico and oil for the "Certosa" customers.

In September 2002, the hotel opened its doors integrally renovated. It have become a obligatory destination for a great variety of guests looking for hotels with a really good relationship among quality and price.

We decided on ?le nuove Frassinaie? because Rebecca and I (Laura) are newcomers to town, having bought in December, 2002. Rebecca is Sienese, works at its university and dedicates her free time to the house, our animals her love for the kitchen. I am originally from Connecticut, have lived in Italy since 1994 and aspire to being home full time for our guests and to pursue my love for art. The ?guys? are three large mutts (Dear, Giglia and Paris), a cat named Slim and a lovebird named Fuji. Animals travelling with you are absolutely welcome. We offer the use of a telephone, cell phone, TV, stereo and internet upon request.
